Introducing Marco Díaz Tamayo

Marco Díaz Tamayo was born into a family of musicians in La Havana, Cuba. After early music lessons with his father, Marco was presented, at the age of six, to the Municipal House of Culture for further training. This began a long list of special performances and national and international prizes, and enabled him to study privately with Leo Brouwer, a well-known Cuban composer.

In 1995, Marco travelled to Europe to study with both Eliot Fisk at the Salzburg Mozarteum and Joaquin Clerch in Munich. Currently, Marco teaches his own class of guitar students at the Mozarteum and enjoys giving master classes and frequent concert tours. Marco has performed concerts as a soloist in Spain, Mexico, Germany, England, France and the United States.
